Apple's first foldable iPhone, the iPhone Duo, goes on sale in the UK today, 23 October 2026, starting at £1,999 for 256GB. Available through EE, O2, Vodafone, Apple, and major retailers, it marks the most significant iPhone launch in years.
For NHS staff and healthcare workers, EE is offering 40% off the monthly airtime plan on eligible contracts, making it one of the most generous NHS discounts currently available from any UK network.

The iPhone Duo is Apple's first foldable smartphone. It folds from a compact 5.4-inch outer display into a 7.6-inch inner Super Retina XDR screen, which Apple describes as the largest display ever on an iPhone and 50% larger than the iPhone 18 Pro Max screen. Both displays are ProMotion panels with Always On, nano-texture glass, and up to 3,000 nits of peak outdoor brightness.
The device is powered by Apple's A20 Pro chip, carries 12GB of RAM, and includes a 4,883mAh battery, the largest ever in an iPhone. It is eSIM-only, with no physical SIM slot, which Apple says allows more internal space for the battery. Touch ID replaces Face ID, integrated into the side button. The iPhone Duo ships with iOS 27.1 and supports Apple Intelligence in full.
The rear camera carries a single 48MP Fusion lens with sensor-shift OIS and 2x optical-quality telephoto crop. The folding design unlocks specific camera features not available on any other iPhone, including Duo Preview and rear-camera selfies using the outer display as a viewfinder.
The device is available in two colours: Star White and Night Sky.

On contract, O2's pricing shows the 256GB model at a device plan of £44.57 a month across a range of airtime options, with total monthly costs from around £77 depending on the data allowance chosen. EE contract pricing follows a similar structure, with the airtime element eligible for the NHS discount.
EE is offering NHS staff and healthcare workers 40% off the monthly airtime element on eligible Flex Pay handset contracts and 24-month SIM-only plans, accessed through the EE NHS Perk scheme. The discount applies to the airtime portion of the bill only, not the device credit agreement.
On a £30 monthly airtime plan, 40% off saves £12 a month and £288 across a 24-month contract. On a £40 airtime plan, the saving is £16 a month and £384 over two years.
| Monthly airtime cost | EE discount (40%) | Monthly saving | 24-month saving |
|---|---|---|---|
| £25 | 40% | £10.00 | £240 |
| £30 | 40% | £12.00 | £288 |
| £35 | 40% | £14.00 | £336 |
| £40 | 40% | £16.00 | £384 |
The discount is available to new EE customers who verify their NHS or healthcare employment through the Perk portal using a valid NHS email address or NHS photo ID. It must be applied at the point of sale online through ee.co.uk and cannot be added retrospectively or used in EE stores. One discount code per customer applies, and the offer cannot be combined with any other EE promotion or discount.
EE's annual price rise applies each March, adding £2.50 a month to airtime plans from the second year of a 24-month contract. Factoring that in alongside the 40% reduction gives the most accurate total cost picture before signing.
Pricing and NHS discount terms can change. Always verify the current EE offer at ee.co.uk before purchasing.
